Situation:
A southerly flow eases today as a low near the Chatham Islands moves further away to the east, while a front lies over the upper North Island. A narrow ridge of high pressure moves across the country tomorrow, then northerlies develop ahead of another low approaching from the Tasman Sea. A low approaches the west of the South Island on Wednesday while easterlies affect the southern South Island and a northwest flow farther north. The low lies slow moving about central New Zealand on Thursday and Friday.
